Message from our December 20, 2012 Meeting

• Don mentioned the terrible news of the 8 polio workers murdered/wounded in Pakistan.
• Scott briefed us on the latest in relation to the golf tournament to be held on August 15, 2013.  Clubs participating will be Toronto Eglinton, Toronto Sunrise and the Brampton Flower City Centennial.  It will be an all Rotary event and we should be able to easily sell out this tournament. Scott met with fellow organisers last night including Robin Singh. There will likely be an early bird date of May 31, 2013. Curry goat will be on the menu! 
• Not too late to give Scott a call in regard to the Pia Bouman Nutcracker event this Friday night.  (Suzanne M. has hurt her foot and might not be able to make it.)
• Hugh gave an update on recent ShelterBox activities including the Swansea School of Dance raising funds through their Holiday Performance, Survivorman Les Stroud in High Park (see accompanying article), and presentations to the Rotary Club of Oakville West with John H., and then again at the Etobicoke's Big Ideas event last night where he floated the Global Gifts idea for their last minute Xmas gifts.

Greedy Grab:

• The Greedy Grab draw was held and gift selection proceeded in quite an orderly fashion.  Great little gifts and only one greedy member... Scott! Happy sipping Don!!
• Don won the 50/50 draw but walked away with the extra greedy grab gift instead of the pot. 
• There is no meeting next week...see everyone back on January 3, 2013 and Merry Christmas!
