Here are the items noted from today's meeting:

  • Suzanne Manvell will be our President next year.  Thank you Suzanne!
  • Scott's doing well!  (Hello Scott!)
  • Don mentioned some of the agenda items discussed at this week's board meeting including:
    • We want to survey all club members to determine what we are passionate about supporting from a Rotary perspective.  The list of possible charities will then be used to guide discussion and collectively determine our priorities for the upcoming year or two.  The working list so far:
      • Elder Nature Club - Nature Centre
      • Shakespeare in Action
      • An international water initiative
      • CAMH Sunshine Garden
      • Rotary Student Exchange
      • ShelterBox International
      • Riverton Project, Jamaica
      • Landmines
      • ENTER YOUR PASSION HERE!
    • The need for folks to reflect on their attendance and thus commitment to this club!  What's your passion?
    • There is a membership drive workshop on January 28 at Whistler's Grill.  John H. says he can go.
    • We have $500 for Landmines Eradication.  Carole will be taking care of next steps.
    • Our agreement in principle to supporting the Visibility Initiative being discussed by the Toronto Area club presidents.  Would involve our giving 10% of funds raised to the cause.
  • Danielle is expecting our results from the TV Auction this week or next.  Stay tuned.
    • There is no breakfast meeting next Thursday, Jan 31st!  Instead, it is anticipated that Suzanne Manvell will be hosting a Social and Fundraiser Dinner for Shakespeare in Action for club members at her home that evening.  Confirmation details to follow from Suzanne.
    • Danielle won the 50/50 draw but not the pot...so sad.
