Today's breakfast meeting was readily abandoned in favour of a Euchre social evening.

Summary of the Euchre Evening:

  • Danielle graciously hosted Rotarians, spouses, family and friends in her building's Party Room.
  • Following food and refreshment, and some brief instructions for the novices, we sat down to an evening of fellowship and...competition.
  • You see, Danielle had consulted with her sister, an expert in organising euchre tournaments and it would be each player playing alone for two different pots - one for successfully "going it alone" and one for the overall high score.  That set the tone.
  • In the tournament format, the winning team rotated to the next table and the losing team stayed put.  In each game, we each had a new partner and kept our own scores.  As it would turn out, some people moved and some did not!
  • At the end of the evening, Don was that last to be holding the coffee cup for successfully "going it alone".
  • And, Robin was the overall winner with the highest score.  Robin then handed her prize back to the club!
  • A great evening with the talk of doing this as a club fundraiser in future.
  • MANY THANKS TO DANIELLE!!
  • Lastly, while there were no announcements this evening, do take a peek at the August 15 Golf Tourney reminder on the web site main page.
