ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity specializing in emergency shelter provision. ShelterBox responds immediately when disasters strike across the world. Volunteer ShelterBox Response Teams deliver humanitarian aid in green ShelterBoxes. Each box supplies an extended family with a tent and lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. Founded by Rotarian Tom Henderson (Cornwall, England) in the year 2000, ShelterBox has responded to over 160 disasters across the world. It is estimated that over 10,000 Rotary Clubs have played a role in supporting ShelterBox, by raising funds, building awareness or providing operations support in disaster zones.
