The Cause: Clearing Landmines, Saving Lives
Ukraine is facing an unprecedented landmine crisis. The ongoing war has left vast areas contaminated with explosive hazards, endangering lives and blocking access to farmland, homes, and essential infrastructure.
The Rotary Club of Parkdale-High Park-Humber, in partnership with the Canadian Landmine Foundation and The HALO Trust, is hosting this event to raise awareness and funds for demining efforts in Ukraine. Every donation helps restore safety, allowing families to return home and communities to rebuild.
What to Expect at the Event
This free community event offers an opportunity to learn, engage, and take action.
🔹 Educational Presentation – Experts will discuss the devastating impact of landmines, the challenges of demining, and the humanitarian work being done in Ukraine.
🔹 Innovative Prosthetics Showcase – Learn about Prosthetics for Ukraine, an initiative using advanced laser technology to create prosthetic limbs for landmine survivors, restoring mobility and dignity.
🔹 How You Can Help – Find out how The HALO Trust and the Canadian Landmine Foundation are making a direct impact—and how you can be part of the solution.
